"Thread and needle" is a piece for flute and piano inspired by one of the composer's favorite video games, "Slay the Spire," in which this item was very prominent. The opening represents the thread - very fluid and organic while using many long, winding melodies. Meanwhile, the middle section represents the needle - very staccato and precise, slowly stitching together the many fragments into fun, 8-bit-like textures.
